Remembering Who We Really Are

McDonald's is great, even for a date,
They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
During Monopoly time, you're even a winner.

In life things get really tough and we pretend we are buff.
That is when we run to a fry and hope that don't die.
From a kids meal box we remember the joy of opening our brand new toy.

In school we try not to drool, and somehow get away with being cool
And, when we start to remember our troubles, it quickly changes to McDoubles.

Like a good friend, you are there for the good, the bad, and the ugly.
There was a day when I was sad, and you kept me from feeling so bad.
I went with a friend, hoping it wouldn't be the end.
What I learned that day was a lesson, that life is not always that pleasant.

Humility takes courage, something I thought I had flourished.
Not only do you remind me to be better, but sometimes my spilled drink gets wetter.
Good thing I was wearing my sweater.

This story is long, but I won't prolong.. My point is,
You are great, even when you don't feel that way.
At times, your fries are soggy, and we turn into little froggie's.

When this happens, we need to remember, that all bad stages have their splendor.
So, next time we go to the drive though, I will remember that lesson,
One learned long ago about life and the beauties of struggle.
